About Me

I am a Professional Counselor licensed by the State of Texas. I have over 20 years of experience providing mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and families in North Texas. I specialize in Child Development, Play Therapy, Individual and Family Counseling. In addition, I provide psychoeducation / training to schools, organizations, and parent groups on many topics and issues: child development, adoption, neuroscience, social intelligence/Giftedness, anxiety/depression, ADHD, positive parenting, trauma, and grief/loss.

I received my Bachelors in Communications and a Minor in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma, and earned my Masters in Counseling from Texas State University graduating Summa Cum Laude. My formal education, practicums in play therapy, clinical internships in schools, residential group home, and at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas / Psychiatric Consult Team prepared me to counsel individuals, groups, couples, families, and children.

Before becoming a mother and a counselor, I worked for Buckner Baptist Benevolences in the adoption and maternity services division covering the State of Texas and International countries - Romania, Russia, and Guatemala - as the Communications Coordinator. I provided adoption education and advocacy; and quality of life improvement in international orphanages and the U.S. foster care system. I have been married to Aaron, a banking litigation attorney, for 27 years.  My husband and I are the proud parents of a recent college graduate and a high school senior.

Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, listening to podcasts and music, playing tennis, enjoying a Texas sunset, and dancing like nobody’s watching.

Get started today.

I offer a 10 minute phone consultation for all potential clients - child, adolescent, adult, couple and/or families. Prior to beginning counseling with a child, I require an in-office initial parent consultation. I am person-centered: a developmental therapist considering the whole person - biological, biographical, environment, systems, and beliefs when considering treatment plans.
